OTDR launch cable assemblies
Launch assemblies providing a known fiber length between an OTDR and the link under test, allowing near-end events and connection loss to be evaluated. Length, fiber grade, interfaces and enclosure must match the measurement range.

Define the configuration first
These historical catalog references guide selection. Materials, performance and available configurations require project review.
- End interfaces
- The catalog lists FC, SC, LC, ST and E2000; specify interface, polish and fiber type at each end.
- Fiber and storage
- Determine fiber length, units and reel space from the test plan, not from a catalog example.
- Match connectors and polish at the instrument and link ends separately.
- Provide instrument model, wavelength, planned settings and target length for review by the test owner.

PROCUREMENT QUESTIONS
Questions before sourcing
Do not treat the catalog example as a universal requirement. Determine length from instrument settings and the measurement task, together with interfaces and fiber type.
Provide the application, both interfaces, fiber count, fiber type, length, quantity and installation environment. A drawing or existing sample reduces clarification cycles.
Interface combinations, port mapping, breakout lengths, jacket and labeling can be evaluated. The approved specification and drawing define the final product.
Samples and mating validation are recommended for new interfaces, complex polarity or harsh-environment projects before volume release.
Confirm test method, instrument interface, reference cable, pass/fail thresholds and report format before quotation.
Include required test items, serialisation and report format in your RFQ so data deliverables can be confirmed in the quotation and approved specification.
Submit the configuration, quantity and target date for review against current materials. Final performance, test methods and delivery dates follow the mutually approved documents.
